not surprising since you may be new to the comic scene. as in you didn’t read comics in the 1940’s.
that’s right our new gay hero is the 1940’s Green lantern which has long since been lost to history.
note that they didn’t touch the contemporary Hal Jordan which is the most poplar Green Lantern to date, more so since Ryan Reynolds played him(although this may be one of the reasons they chose a lesser known hero, to keep sales up and to keep their big name stars for sequels) but instead chose a man who didn’t have anything to do with intergalactic policing and had a weakness to wood
I’m not kidding and yes I do believe that the people at DC thought it would be funny to have him be gay with a weakness to wood
now I’m not saying that this isn’t a step forward but it feels like the smallest step possible, more of them trying to toss us a bone or something worthless to placate us into thinking well hey at least we have a male gay hero now to go with batwoman.
whats next? a trans* guy who appears once or a bi hero who is a terrible stereotype?
DC as I am a big fan of you work of all forms it is absolutely ridiculous you would think that this is anything like what we expected. especially when you were making such a big deal about him being a major player.
